Volunteer in USA
The United States, one of the largest nations in the world, is home to diverse cultures, foods, weather, and geographical terrain. With its 50 states, each part of the country is unique with its people, way of life and social needs. Whether you live in a big city, or a small country town, you will learn about American culture by experiencing what many Americans themselves experience in their daily life.
We want to invite you to see the USA through volunteer programs in education, environmental conservation, social welfare, immigrant support programs, and community building.
Volunteer Abroad Program Overview — USA
Accommodation
During your stay in the United States you will be living with a host family. They will pick you up at the local airport and will take you in as part of their family to add to your complete experience while in the U.S. You will be expected to participate in this family's life with an open mind. This family has gracefully opened up their home to learn more about your culture as well. Be ready for an amazing growing experience.
Arrival
Upon your arrival, you will be met at the airport by either your host family or program coordinator. It is recommended you arrive on a Saturday or Sunday so that you may settle in before your first day in your volunteer project.
Orientation
You will have an initial orientation with your local Program Coordinator upon your arrival. At that time you will be given orientation materials and other information about your stay. Any questions you may have will be answered, including what to do about local transportation, the do's and don't of your host family stay, etc.
A couple of days following your arrival, you will begin at your volunteer project, where you will have a project orientation your first day.
