Head-Start After School Program
The Head Start
program is a government-sponsored program mainly working with children
from birth to 3 years of age.
Volunteers will work with program coordinators to plan out children's activities, work with parents to engage them in their children's education, interact and play with the participants.
New Orleans and surrounding areas affected by Hurricane Katrina
Volunteer your time and skills to help rebuild and revitalize Gulf Coast communities. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to, food bank distribution, animal shelter support, park cleanup, community as well as home building and restoration.
Special Education Classroom Assistant:
Work with handicapped teens during their summer school period. Volunteers will assist in their students' classroom activities, as well as the planning and chaperoning of group field trips.
Conservation Project at the Cibolo Nature Center
The Cibolo Nature Center, located in Texas, has over 100 acres of forest wilderness and nature trails. The center and its staff, also known as The Friends of the Cibolo Wilderness, are dedicated to promoting conservation of natural resources through education and stewardship.
Volunteers work with the summer camp projects offered at the center, and the children that attend them during the summer months.
Please also note that volunteer projects can also be specifically structured to meet participants particular skills, needs, and interests. |
