About Turkey

Turkey embraces two continents with one arm reaching out to Asia and other to Europe. Through the border city Istanbul's heart, the Bosphorus, course the waters of the Black Sea, the Sea of Marmara and the Golden Horn. The former capital of three successive empires, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman, Istanbul today honors and preserves the legacy of its past while looking forward to a modern future.

Turkey has been the home of great cultures and civilizations of the world for over ten thousand years. Here you can enjoy the pleasures of east and west, old and new. You can see the landscapes of incredible natural beauty, sites of great antiquity, towns and villages with lovely examples of architecture from Byzantine, Seljuk, and Ottoman times. Once you have visited Turkey, sampled the delicious food, and enjoyed the friendliness and hospitality of the people you are sure to want to return again, and again, each time making new discoveries and new friends.
