Elías Castillo is the Academic Director of our Spanish Language and Culture Center with an extensive background in teaching and directing Spanish programs. His past experience also includes training of U.S. Peace Corps volunteers and directing development projects for Plan International.

Myriam Flor is our Volunteer Coordinator and Director of Incoming Programs. She has been working with volunteers and host organizations since 1996 and is the person you will most be in contact with before and during your volunteer service.

Luis Alfonso Avila wears several hats: administrative and logistic coordinator for our volunteer program; Spanish teacher; and coordinator of Spanish programs for Semester Abroad groups from World Learning`s School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont.

EIL Ecuador is a non-profit, non-sectarian, non-political organization founded in 1977 to provide intercultural learning programs for Ecuadorians and people from other countries. It is governed by a General Assembly that meets annually and presided over by an Executive Board. It is a member of the International Federation of National Representations of the Experiment in International Living (Federation EIL) and as such is a partner within a network of 24 autonomous Experiment Representations around the world. In Ecuador it is a member of the Ecuadorian-North American Chamber of Commerce as a non-profit institution.

EIL Ecuador provides cultural exchange and language programs for hundreds of Ecuadorians and international participants each year. Our personnel includes 16 permanent staff members, language teachers and individuals contracted to provide special services.
